Variety/Peter Debruge
Where so many high-concept romantic comedies squander their one big idea, "La Belle Époque" leverages its own to remind how and why we fall in love in the first place...

Sunday Independent(Ireland)/Aine O'Connor
It's a very complete, satisfying and enjoyable film with beautifully observed and written roles brought to extra life by some wonderful performances.

Screen International/Allan Hunter
A sweet, inventive Richard Curtis-style romantic-comedy crowdpleaser that deftly balances hearty laughs and heartwarming emotion.

Hollywood Reporter/Todd McCarthy
This is accomplished commercial filmmaking of a type rarely seen these days, much less applied to this kind of old-fashioned but sharp-minded material.

The List/Matthew Turner
Romantic, nostalgic and beautifully acted, it's one of the best films of the year.

RTÉ (Ireland)/Paddy Kehoe
Written and directed by Nicolas Bedos, La Belle Epoque is a dazzling tour de force for everyone who likes magnificent escapism.
